Police are searching for a group of suspects accused of a robbing a man of his belongings near Ryerson University’s downtown campus.

According to police, a man was walking on Gould Street toward Church Street on Friday when he started to feel like he was being followed.

The victim told police he decide to change the direction he was walking in but as he headed toward a more populated part of campus, he was stopped by three men.

The three suspects then allegedly started to assault the victim. When he attempted to fight back, police say one of the suspects flaunted a firearm that was tucked under his waistband.

The suspects were able to rob the victim of his necklace and headphones before fleeing the area.

On Tuesday, investigators released images taken from security camera footage that shows several suspects dressed in dark clothing with hoodie sweaters pulled over their heads.

Anyone with new information about the investigation is being asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
