Police in Barrie, Ont., have charged a man with murder on Thursday following the "sudden death" of two people at a north-end Travelodge.
Barrie police say that Helen Dorrington, 52, from Alberta, and Mary Hepburn, 32, who recently moved to Barrie from Alberta, were found dead inside a hotel room at around 2 p.m. Wednesday.
A 22-year-old man was also found with serious injuries and was taken to hospital, police said.
Mark Dobson, 22, of Barrie, has been arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder, police said on Thursday.
He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court on May 9.
Portions of the hotel remain closed to the public as part of the investigation. Police say the section will remain closed off for another two days.
