LONDON - London police say one man is dead and one injured after an overnight shooting incident in the southwestern Ontario city.

Officers were called to the downtown area near Richmond Street and King Street just after 3 a.m. Sunday when gunshots were reported.

Police say officers arrived to find a disturbance involving several people and two men suffering from gunshot wounds.

Both were transported to London Health Sciences Centre where one of them died.

The other man was listed in stable condition Sunday with a gunshot wound that is considered non-life threatening. The men's names were not immediately released.

Police say seven people have been arrested for various offences but there were no immediate details on charges.
