IROQUOIS FALLS, Ont. - A man in a northern Ontario town has been charged with assaulting a police officer who came to investigate a dispute.
Provincial police say they were looking for the man in connection with a disturbance at a home in Iroquois Falls, about 70 kilometres northeast of Timmins.
An officer approached him in town to discuss the incident.
Police allege the man then assaulted the officer.
Michael Sammon, 54, is scheduled to appear in a Timmins court on Aug. 16.
