A funeral was held Friday for a pregnant mother who was shot and killed in Jamestown earlier this month.

The service took place at a Brampton church with hundreds in attendance to remember the life of Candice Rochelle Bobb, 35, who was five months pregnant when she was shot to death inside a vehicle on May 15.

On the night of the shooting, Bobb was in a car with her boyfriend dropping off a friend in a Jamestown townhouse complex after watching a local basketball game in another part of the city. A gunman approached the vehicle and fired several bullets into the vehicle, fatally wounding Bobb.

Her baby boy was saved by doctors, who delivered the child via emergency C-section after the shooting.

Bobb’s family released a statement on Thursday, saying the baby “continues to gain weight” and he remains in serious but stable condition in hospital.

No one else was injured in the shooting.

The investigation is ongoing and the motive still remains a mystery.
