The Honda Indy is roaring into town this weekend and will cause major traffic delays around the Lake Shore. 

The Honda Indy begins today with “Fan Friday,” which means fans can attend for free but are asked to make a donation to Make-A-Wish Canada. Click here for a full list of events that are taking place this weekend at the Indy. 

With thousands of fans will flooding to the area over the weekend, traffic is expected to be a nightmare in the area.

Toronto police are warning motorists to expect “significant delays” in the areas due to the extensive road closures.

The closures for the Honda Indy include:

  • Southbound Strachan Avenue, from Fleet Street to Lake Shore Boulevard West
  • Lake Shore Boulevard West from Strachan Avenue to British Columbia Drive 

The closures are expected to last until Sunday at around 11 p.m.

Police are urging motorists to find alternative routes or take public transit.
