Hockey dad faces charges after 'aggressively' poking referee

COCHRANE, Ont. - A hockey dad has been charged with assault after a confrontation with a referee at a Midget-level hockey game in Cochrane last month.
Provincial police said the official was "poked aggressively" and "subjected to blasphemous insults" by a man at the Oct. 18 game between Cochrane and Iroquois Falls.
They said the man's child was playing in the game.
Yvon Lapierre, 37, of Timmins faces is scheduled to appear in court in Cochrane on Nov. 26.
