HAMILTON, Ont. - Hamilton police say they have recaptured a 24-year-old man who escaped while being held in custody for attempting to break into a home.
Police arrested two men on July 24 after they had set off an alarm while entering a home.
As police prepared to transport the suspects, they say one man escaped on foot and scaled a fence.
A warrant was sought for the man.
On Friday, police went to investigate an address where the man who escaped was allegedly hiding.
Police say they found Trevor Linklater hiding in the basement crawl space.
He has been arrested and is charged with escaping lawful custody and a breach in probation.
