After years of floating in a state of limbo, parts of Toronto's iconic former restaurant Captain John's is slowly being dismantled.
The dilapidated ship that sits at the foot of Yonge Street was sold to the Marine Recycling Corporation earlier this month.
Photos of crews dismantling the ship have been posted to @ByeCaptainJohns this week, as Marine Recycling prepares the rustic relic for its last voyage. It is expected the ship will be removed from Toronto's Harbour by the end of May.
Not the easiest to see in this photo but the crane is basically holding the bar that's being welded. pic.twitter.com/b6vMDSMs9K

With help from two workers, the crane operator hoisted up the old set of rusty stairs and dumped it on deck. Gently. pic.twitter.com/onZ7sHpg6h
