GO Train service along the Barrie line has resumed nearly 3.5 hours after a commuter train collided with a dump truck near King City on Friday morning.

The 6:52 a.m. train from Allendale Waterfront Station to Union Station was held just south of King City GO Station, north of Vaughan, due to the collision.

A second train held in Aurora while the tracks were cleared. The train arrived at Union station 166 minutes late.

The driver of the truck escaped unharmed, and no passenger injuries have been reported.

The front of the truck is smashed on one side, and the windshield is missing, as seen from the CTV Toronto chopper.

As emergency crews investigated the scene, passengers were not permitted to leave the train, but a second train was sent to nearby Maple Station and the passengers have since left for Union Station.
