Wait until Friday to visit the gas station – push your car home if you have to.
Gas prices across the country are expected to drop by more than six cents a litre Friday morning.
The website TomorrowsGasPricesToday.com, which is run by fuel watcher and former Liberal MP Dan McTeague, announced the expected decrease Thursday morning.
“They’ve been shamed,” McTeague told CTV Toronto of the industry’s sudden drop, suggesting this week’s price hikes were “bogus.”
The alert comes one day after prices rose by 3.4 cents a litre in Toronto and by similar amounts elsewhere in the country. Montreal saw an increase of 13 cents a litre on Wednesday, to an all-time high of $1.53 at some stations.
Toronto’s average gas price on Thursday was 136.8 cents a litre – 9.6 cents more expensive that it was one year ago today. This time last year, stations in Toronto were charging 127.2 cents a litre.
