A two-alarm blaze ripped through at least one home in Scarborough after a fire broke out in the garage of a townhouse on Saturday.

Firefighters were called to 261 Morrish Road, near Old Kingston Road, at 10:15 a.m. to find the garage of the home fully engulfed in flames.

Twelve fire trucks and 45 firefighters battled the blaze.

“It was just an awful sight…to see your neighbour’s house just up in flames,” a resident in the area told CTV Toronto on Saturday.

There have been no reported injuries and officials had evacuated all surrounding units.

Acting Platoon Chief Richard Cooper said the fire initially began in the garage and soon spread to the second floor of the home, causing extensive damage.

The cause of the fire remains unknown.

The Fire Marshal's office has been notified of the incident.
