A busy downtown street has reopened hours after glass fell from the Shangri-La Hotel building for the fourth time in two years.

The southbound lanes of University Avenue were closed between Adelaide and Richmond Streets due to the fallen glass. The lanes reopened shortly before 9 a.m.

No injuries have been reported.

Previous incidents were reported in January, September, and November 2013.

The 5-foot-by-2-foot pane of glass fell from a part of the building that is a private residential unit, not a hotel room, Kerry Connelly, director of communications for the Shangri-La Hotel, said in a statement.
