A couple of lucky Toronto Maple Leafs fans have been invited to walk down the aisle to centre ice at the Air Canada Centre this week, after winning a team contest to get married at the Buds’ home rink.

A Leaf-themed wedding may sound like the epitome of “for better or worse,” but for Scarborough residents Jennifer and Scott, it seems to be a dream come true.

The couple won the contest by showing off their Maple Leafs fandom. Photos posted on the contest site show Jennifer and Scott’s home decorated with the blue and white colours and logo of the team. One photo depicts three dogs wearing Leafs hockey jerseys.

Jennifer and Scott were among five couples named as contest finalists, with the winner left to a fan vote.

The contest winners will be allowed to hold their wedding ceremony at centre ice at the Air Canada Centre on Thursday, March 19, at 2:30 p.m. They’ll also have access to one of the arena suites for a 57-person reception in the afternoon, as well as for the Maple Leafs game against the San Jose Sharks that night.

Wedding bands will be provided for the winning couple by sponsor Michael Hill.
