Firefighters found what appears to be a marijuana grow operation while battling a blaze inside a house in Richmond Hill on Thursday, police say.
Members of the York Regional Police drugs and vice unit were called in shortly after fire crews responded to the home on Rawlings Avenue, near Bayview Avenue and Elgin Mills Road, at about 6:20 a.m. Thursday.
Neighbours noticed flickering lights and realized there was a fire, a police spokesman told CP24.
After the fire was extinguished, detectives entered the home to investigate.
