Police are investigating after a fire truck collided with a vehicle before coming to a stop when it hit a post office in downtown Orangeville Tuesday evening.

The collision happened around 6 p.m. in the town, which is located northwest of Caledon.

According to a police press release, a truck belonging to the Orangeville Fire Department collided with another vehicle, which caused it to leave the road.

The truck then collided with a furnishings store and a post office, coming to a stop on the sidewalk.

At least one, and maybe two other vehicles were also damaged in the incident, police said.

Three firefighters were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A local news report said the fire truck was responding to a call at the time of the incident.
