A 43-year-old man is dead after being pinned by a van at an auto-auction facility in Brampton on Wednesday.

Peel Regional Police say employees were preparing for an auction at Adesa auctions on Goreway Avenue around 10 a.m. when the man was struck by a van.

The van went on to crash into a wall and it appears the victim was pinned, police said.

“We attended and, subsequently, the man was pronounced dead on scene here,” said Peel Regional Police Const. Erin Cooper.

Aerial footage from CTV Toronto’s helicopter showed a large dent in the concrete wall where the man was hit.

Witnesses said it took about 15 minutes for an ambulance to arrive and paramedics worked for 15 minutes to try and revive the man, but they were not able to.

Cooper said there were many witnesses to the crash, who police would interview as part of their investigation.
