OSHAWA, Ont. - A local school board employee in Durham Region has been charged after an internal audit discovered thousands of dollars missing from school funds.
Durham Catholic District School Board contacted Durham police in late October to report an alleged theft of thousands of dollars following the findings of an internal audit.
The audit discovered more than $12,300 dollars in funds missing from St. Bernadette Catholic School.
Investigators say the funds were stolen during a period spanning September 2010 to August 2012.
Bridget McKeever, 45, of Oshawa is charged with theft over $5,000 and has been released on conditions.
