Toronto police say they seized more than $1 million worth of drugs in a late-night raid in the downtown core.

"Drugs in this city is a constant problem," Det. Mark Randall told a Tuesday news conference that displayed the seized drugs and firearms.

"And of course, where drugs go, weapons follow. And where weapons go, violence follows."

The Emergency Task Force along with 55 Division police officers executed a search warrant inside a condominium unit on Fort York Boulevard in the Lake Shore Boulevard and Bathurst Street area.

Police say they recovered a gun that had been stolen during a home invasion in Peel region back in 2006.  They also seized a bulletproof vest, balaclavas and ammunition, along with a replica handgun.

Marijuana, ecstasy, cocaine, hashish, methamphetamine, Ecstasy, GHB and heroin are said to be among the drugs that were confiscated during the raid. Police suspect the drugs were destined to be sold in the downtown club district.

Police allege the individuals arrested are more than street-level dealers.

Three male suspects -- Nathaniel Tarlo, 23, David Back, 22, and Mark Szczygiel, 24, -- are facing charges related to firearm and drug offences. They face a total of 58 charges related to drug and firearms offences, along with a few related to possession of property obtained through the proceeds of crime.

They were to appear in court on Tuesday.
