Police took extra precautions around Yorkville Tuesday after the Four Seasons Hotel reported a cracked window on one of its upper floors.

The hotel’s Director of Public Relations Halla Rafati released a statement saying the cracked window was in a residential west tower unit.

She said the police were notified immediately and “at this time no glass has fallen.”

However, cars and pedestrians were still not allowed around the east side of the building as a safety precaution while the window was repaired.

Const. Jenifferjit Sidhu said the window broke “from the inside” but officers are still not sure how it could have happened.

Yorkville Avenue and Scollard Street were both closed between Bay and Yonge streets, but were reopened just after 5 p.m.

No injuries have been reported.
