A couple who were arrested in connection with the murder of a Kleinburg man in 2015 have also been charged with possession of child pornography, police say.

A man from New Brunswick and a woman from Quebec were charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of 32-year-old Sina Parsi.

Parsi was reported missing after he did not return home from a soccer game on the night of June 9.

York Regional Police recovered his truck and wallet on June 11 in a parking lot near to the building where his body was later discovered.

Parsi was found dead inside an apartment on Woolner Avenue, near Jane Street and St. Clair Avenue, on June 12, 2015.

Police arrested two suspects in relation to the incident at a Wal-Mart in Niagara Falls on June 22.

At the time, police were not sure how the accused knew Parsi. Investigators later indicated that the two suspects were involved in drug trafficking but did not say whether they believe that was the motive.

According to Toronto police sex crimes investigators, the couple was also “in possession of, and accessed, child abuse images.”

On Friday, Clyde Marshall, 37, and Sabrina Chouart, 28, were both charged with possessing child pornography and accessing child pornography.

Both were already in police custody when the charges were laid and made a court appearance on Friday morning.
