A child has been reunited with a family member after being found riding a tricycle in Toronto's west end.

Police said the child was found in the area of Morningside and Beresford Avenues, just east of Windermere Avenue, at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

Officers have not said whether the child is a boy or girl, but said he or she is believed to be between two and three years old.

The child was found in a diaper, riding a tricycle.

Shortly after 11 a.m., officers said they had located a family member and were investigating the circumstances.

The incident occurred just two days after a boy was found alone at an Etobicoke grocery store. The boy had been left behind at the store on Monday, but his family was located four hours after police were called.

On Friday, a toddler was seen wandering outside near a busy Scarborough street. Police were told that the boy's grandmother left for work early, and must not have locked the door properly.
