MATTAWA, Ont. - Provincial police in Mattawa, Ont., are looking for a dog that allegedly attacked a toddler and sent him to hospital Saturday evening.
They say the toddler and his mother were on their way to a Santa Claus parade when the dog lunged at him.
The 22-month-old boy sustained severe injuries to his face before his mother could pull the dog away.
Police say the boy was sent to hospital for medical attention.
Investigators say the dog was large with short, black hair and pointed ears.
They say they've been unable to find the dog or its owner, and are seeking the public's assistance.
