For those residents who aren’t taking off to a cottage or camp ground this weekend, there are plenty of events going on in the city to help you celebrate Canada’s 145th birthday.

Here is a listing of some of the events taking place in and around the city:

Friday, June 29:

Canada Day: Going Global Festival: The Harbourfront Centre will be hosting a four-day festival over the weekend, featuring performances by Canadian artists who have helped bring Canadian dance, music and culture to the rest of the world. Harbourfront Centre, Friday to Monday, Various times, Free.

Toronto Ribfest: This year’s annual Ribfest will feature food, animals from the Toronto Zoo, magicians and a farmer’s market. Proceeds from Ribfest go to the Rotary Club of Etobicoke which supports local community groups and programs. Centennial Park, Friday to Monday, 11 a.m. - 11 p.m., Free.

Saturday, June 30:

New Traditions: Island Music and Art Festival: The first annual New Traditions: Island Music and Art Festival will be taking place at the Artscape Gilbraltar Point on the Toronto Island. The festival will feature 12 straight hours of outdoor art exhibits and live music. Toronto Islands, 12 p.m., $20.

Sunday, July 1:

PRIDE Parade: Celebrate PRIDE with the city’s LGBT community by taking in this year’s Pride Parade. The annual parade starts at Bloor and Church Streets, heads south on Yonge Street and ends at Gerrard Street, 2 p.m., Free.

Canada Day at Queen’s Park: Queen’s Park will celebrate Canada Day with a barbeque, live musical performances and a 21-gun salute. Queen’s Park, 12 p.m. – 5 p.m., Free.

Canada Day at High Park: Celebrations in High Park will feature Aboriginal music and dance performances, as well as a historical walking tour of the park. High Park, 12 p.m. – 4:30 p.m., Free.

Multicultural Canada Day: The Community Folk Art Council will be turning Yonge-Dundas Square into a dance theatre to showcase multicultural dance performances. Over the course of the day, dance groups will present 30 minute traditional performances on the square’s main stage. Yonge-Dundas Square, 12 p.m. – 9 p.m., Free.

Fireworks at Ashbridges Bay Park: Watch as fireworks light up the sky over Lake Ontario in this annual Canada Day tradition. Ashbridge’s Bay Park, 9:30 p.m., Free.

Monday, July 2:

Brewer’s Backyard: Beer Festival: Enjoy the day off work at the third annual Brewer’s Backyard beer festival. The casual festival will feature a selection of beers and food for purchase against the backdrop of the Evergreen Brick Works. Evergreen Brick Works, 12 p.m. - 4 p.m., Free.
