A ship that used to hold a floating restaurant in Toronto's harbour will not be moved for at least another week, as the new owner awaits court approval.

The dilapidated ship that housed Captain John's Harbour Boat Restaurant was supposed to be removed last week, but will remain in the harbour until final arrangements are made.

The M.V. Jadran was sold on July 31 for $33,501, under the condition that it be removed from the pier at the foot of Yonge Street by Aug. 22.

Owner James Sbrolla told CTV Toronto he was unable to have the ship moved last week, but planned to move it on Friday.

Sbrolla's plan to move the ship is dependent on the court order, which needs to be updated to reflect the new moving date. Since Sbrolla hasn't been to court yet, he's unable to move the ship.

On Friday morning, Sbrolla said he expects the court date to be scheduled sometime in early September. Once the order is amended, he will move the ship and sell its salvageable parts.
