BEAVERTON, Ont. -- Hydro One crews are working in the bitter cold to repair a power outage affecting about 3,500 customers.

They are in an area bounded by Beaverton, north to Head Lake and east to around the Bobcaygeon area.

The utility blames an unspecified equipment failure.

It hopes to have full power restored by about 9:30 a.m.

The pre-dawn temperature in the area is about minus 28 with a morning high expected to only climb to about minus 24.
