NEWMARKET, Ont. - A Barrie man is facing a series of charges in connection with a $2.3-million banking fraud investigation.

York Regional Police say they launched the probe after receiving a complaint from TD Canada Trust regarding a series of transactions.

Police allege that over the last several months, eight customers unknowingly had money withdrawn from their line of credit accounts by a bank employee at a branch in Thornhill.

Andrew Ramdass, 27, is charged with fraud over $5,000 and theft over $5,000.

The investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
