PORT COLBORNE, Ont. - A Port Colborne, Ont., teenager, whom police think consumed jimson weed, is charged after a car crash.
Niagara regional police allege the 14-year-old stole a Toyota Camry on Tuesday.
They say the teen lost control of the vehicle which collided with a light standard then a large tree.
The teen is charged with theft and dangerous driving.
Police say the teen consumed what he thought was marijuana.
But tests suggest he ate jimson weed, a toxic plant that carries a high incidence of overdose, hospitalization and has frequently resulted in fatalities.
