Police have charged a Toronto man with second-degree murder in connection with the city's first murder of the year.
Jamahl Franklin, 20, was shot to death outside a Scarborough party just after 4:30 a.m. on Jan. 1. He died at the scene.
The party was on Hupfield Trail, just blocks away from the Malvern Town Centre at Finch Avenue East and Neilson Road.
Baptists Bernier, 22, was arrested on Thursday. He was set to appear in court on Friday.
