MISSISSAUGA, Ont. - The Toronto Argonauts have released veteran defensive end Ronald Flemons.

Flemons played in 101 regular-season games over seven seasons with Toronto, winning his first Grey Cup in 2012.

Flemons has 182 tackles, 26 quarterback sacks and five fumble recoveries in his career. He totalled 18 tackles and four quarterback sacks in fifteen regular season games in 2012.

"Ron has been an important member of our team since I arrived in Toronto, and we'd like to thank him for his effort and professionalism," Argonauts general manager Jim Barker said in a statement. "These kinds of football decisions are difficult but this move doesn't mean his time in Double Blue won't come again. We wish him continued success in the future."
