Toronto’s novice singers and guitarists have a new place to practice together.

The Jam Space, a non-profit private members club, opened in November in the city’s north end.

There are currently 70 members who each pay $1,200 annually to access the space, located at 83 Kincort Street, near Keele Street and Lawrence Avenue.

Each member gets a pass card and can rock out to a friendly audience 24 hours per day. They can use the online portal to make appointments to form sessions with other members.

There are also three soundproof recording studios, a ping-pong table and a lounge. Each studio is equipped with a P.A. system, microphones, a drum kit, keyboards and an amplifier.

Everyone is required to pitch in with the cleaning.

Dave Cotteral, a member, is enjoying the space.

“I think it’s a great outlet for the medium to mediocre to get out and play in a band,” he said.
