Toronto councillor files complaint against Rob Ford

Toronto city council will be considering a report from the city's integrity commissioner on Wednesday regarding a complaint filed against Toronto Mayor Rob Ford.

The report stems from a complaint made back in November by Councillor Paul Ainslie claiming that Ford made automated telephone calls from his office to residents of Ward 43-Scarborough East. Ainslie claims the calls unfairly accused him of not listening to his constituents regarding the proposed LRT line and tried to influence voters in the next election.

Debate over renaming Union Station

City council will also examine a proposal to rename Toronto's Union Station to Sir John A. Macdonald Station.

Back in February, Councillor Denzil Minnan-Wong proposed that the City of Toronto consider renaming Union Station after Macdonald.

Later that month, council requested that staff consult with members of the public and relevant stakeholders regarding the possibility of re-naming the famous landmark.

In June, the director of the Toronto Office of Partnerships suggested that the city name only a section of Union Station after former prime minister, noting that most Torontonians were opposed to the renaming.
