The overcast skies will continue on Wednesday as Environment Canada expects it will be mainly cloudy with a 60 per cent chance of showers and a risk of thunderstorms. The daytime high is forecast to be 22 C, before temperatures drop to a low of 11 C overnight.

TRAFFIC

Traffic is moving very slowly along Highway 401 near Highway 409 in both directions. There are some slowdowns along the 401 near Highway 400, but cars are still moving.

Parts of the southbound Don Valley Parkway are nearly stopped south of the Don Mills Road exit.

The eastbound Gardiner Expressway is moving very slowly from Park Lawn Avenue to Dufferin Street.

New Detroit-Windsor bridge

Plans for a new bridge that will connect Detroit, Mich. and Windsor, Ont., are expected to be unveiled on Wednesday. The New International Trade Crossing bridge is expected to open in 2020. Transport Minister Lisa Raitt and Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder will make the announcement.

TTC driver who ran a red light apologizes

A former TTC bus operator who was filmed running a red light has written an open letter about the incident that ultimately cost her her job.

In her letter to TTC management the unnamed driver wrote, "I feel absolutely awful about this incident."

"I am truly sorry from the bottom of my heart," she wrote. "This was an unacceptable lack of judgment on my part by not noticing the light."

After defeating Boston 4-2, the Toronto Blue Jays will play the Red Sox again at Fenway Park. Wednesday's game starts at 7:10 p.m. ET.

The Toronto FC are hoping to move past their 2-1 loss to Sporting KC when they play the DC United. Wednesday's game at RFK Memorial Stadium starts at 7 p.m. ET.
