WEATHER

Bundle up before heading out the door today, as Environment Canada says there is a 30 per cent chance of flurries later this morning and afternoon. The daytime high is expected to be 2 C, and temperatures will drop to a low of -2 C Tuesday night.

TRAFFIC

Strong winds overnight knocked out power across the GTA, and police are warning that some traffic lights may still be out. There have been three separate collisions on Weston Road near Highway 401, where the traffic lights have yet to come back on.

Further east, the 401 is moving slowly from Dixie Road to Weston eastbound and from Port Union Road to Allen Road westbound.

Morning traffic is building along the usual routes into the city, with congestion building along the Gardiner Expressway between Windermere Avenue and Parliament Street.

Cleanup after windstorm

Thousands of people were left in the dark after strong winds blew through Toronto and much of southern Ontario yesterday. The windstorm knocked down a number of trees, and cut power to thousands of customers across the province.

Probe launched into leak at Pickering nuclear plant

The Ontario Power Generation has launched an investigation into the leak at the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station. Nearly 7,000 litres of radioactive heavy water were leaked inside the power plant on Friday. No injuries were reported, and all the water was contained.

Jonas Valanciunas scored a career-high of 27 points yesterday, lifting the Toronto Raptors to a 104-100 victory over the Phoenix Suns. Toronto will be back on the court on Wednesday, when the team plays the Atlanta Hawks at the Philips Arena.
