There will be a mix of sun and cloud later this afternoon, followed by a 30 per cent chance of flurries in the evening. Environment Canada says the daytime high is expected to be 0 C, and the mercury will drop to a low of -7 C Thursday night.

TRAFFIC

The thin coating of snow is sure to make it slow-going on the roads this morning. Several crashes have been reported along the Queen Elizabeth Way, and police are warning drivers to leave home early to ensure a safe arrival.

The blustery weather has also led to a series of school bus cancellations across southern Ontario.

Hunt continues for robbers who wore burkas during heist

Police continue to search for two suspects who investigators say wore burkas during a jewelry store heist. Security camera footage that shows the two male suspects robbing a North York store on Oct. 14 was released Wednesday. Police say they stole approximately $500,000 worth of rings and other jewelry items.

TCHC benefitting from red-hot housing market

The Toronto Community Housing Corporation is cashing in on the hot housing market. Nearly 75 per cent of the agency’s properties that have been approved for sale have been sold – the majority of them selling for up to 20 per cent over asking. In total, the TCHC has earned approximately $49.5 million so far.

After a devastating 9-2 loss to the Nashville Predators on Tuesday, the Toronto Maple Leafs will be looking to win back some of their fans tonight when they play the Tampa Bay Lightning at the ACC. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. ET.
