The end of the work week will likely be sunny with some cloud coverage in the afternoon. Environment Canada says the daytime high will be 26 C, and temperatures are expected to drop to a low of 16 C Friday night.

Ford Fest

The Ford family's annual bash is set to take place this evening in Thomson Memorial Park. Unlike previous Ford Fests, this year’s barbecue will be booze free as the organizer's application for a liquor licence was turned down by the province. The Scarborough event is also supposed to be a campaign-free zone.

Jackie DeSousa, a spokesperson for the City of Toronto, has said that Mayor Rob Ford’s office has been warned there can be no campaigning at the event as it is taking place at a public park. Ford Fest starts at 5 p.m.

TRAFFIC

Traffic is moving very slowly along Highway 401 near Highway 409 in both directions. There are some slowdowns along the 401 near Highway 400, but cars are still moving.

Parts of the southbound Don Valley Parkway are nearly stopped south of the Don Mills Road exit.

The eastbound Gardiner Expressway is moving very slowly from Park Lawn Avenue to Dufferin Street.

SPORTS

After winning three of four games against the Boston Red Sox, the Toronto Blue Jays will take on the New York Yankees in New York on Friday. The game at Yankee Stadium will start at 7:05 p.m. ET.
