Karen Stintz exits mayoral race

After months of sagging poll results, Coun. Karen Stintz bowed out of Toronto's mayoral race Thursday morning. The former TTC chair entered the race in February. She ran on a platform that focused on easing Toronto's congestion. Her ideas, however, failed to gain traction and she struggled to find support in a crowded mayoral field. In a recent Forum Research Poll, the councillor received only 4 per cent of support, behind frontrunners John Tory, Rob Ford, Olivia Chow and David Soknacki. Stintz, who has held the Ward 16 Eglinton-Lawrence seat for 11 years, also won't be running for city council either.
