Jane and Finch shooting

The province’s police watchdog is investigating a shooting in Toronto’s Jane and Finch neighbourhood that sent five people to hospital yesterday. Police have arrested four people in connection with the shooting. One of the suspects was shot in an “interaction with police” during the arrest.

Court appearance for double-stabbing suspect

A 21-year-old male suspect is expected to make a court appearance later today in connection with a double stabbing in Mississauga on Thursday. Police say an 84-year-old man has died, and his wife is expected to recover. The suspect, who police have identified, is facing a murder and an attempted murder charge.

After losing to the Tampa Bay Rays 4-2 Thursday night, the Toronto Blue Jays will play the Atlanta Braves tonight at the Rogers Centre. The first of the three-game series starts at 7:07 p.m.
