Toronto police are investigating after five people were injured if four separate overnight stabbings.

Police first responded to reports of a stabbing on Thorncliffe Park Drive at around midnight on Friday.

Investigators say one man is in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. They have not confirmed if his injuries resulted from the stabbing.

The second stabbing occurred shortly after in the area of Wingarden Court and Crow Trail in Toronto’s Malvern neighbourhood.

Police say a 33-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Investigators have not confirmed if the woman's injuries were the result of the stabbing.

A 28-year-old man is in custody.

At approximately 12:30 a.m., police responded to another stabbing in the area of Adelaide and Simcoe Streets.

A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries, paramedics say.

The fourth stabbing occurred in Scarborough at approximately 2 a.m. near Kennedy and Ellesmere Roads.

A man in his 20s was seriously injured during the incident. Investigators say the victim is not co-operating with police and no arrests have been made.
