NAPANEE, Ont. -- A 30-year veteran of the Ontario Provincial Police faces fraud and theft charges, stemming from incidents that police say occurred over the summer.

Const. Wayne Burrows, 53, was arrested and charged Thursday with theft under $5,000, fraud under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime.

OPP say the alleged incidents occurred between June 15 and Aug. 29.

Burrows was released ahead of a court appearance in Belleville on Sept. 26.

OPP say he was posted to the Napanee detachment and was on duty at the time of the alleged incidents.

Burrows has been suspended from duty with pay and anyone with information is asked to contact provincial police.
