Three Toronto police officers accused of sexually assaulting a female parking enforcement officer back in January 2015 made a court appearance on Monday.

After being previously released on bail in February, Joshua Cabero, 28, Leslie Nyznik, 38, and Sameer Kara, 31, appeared in a Toronto courtroom for pre-trial motions where it was announced that the jury will be selected on Wednesday.

The three officers were released on bail on February 19, 2015 after being charged with sexual assault and gang sexual assault in connection with an alleged January 17, 2015 incident.

The three men were released on $15,000 bail. As part of their bail conditions at the time, they were prohibited from drinking alcohol, possessing guns and were told to avoid contact with the complainant and 20 witnesses.

The alleged incident took place at a party.

The woman involved said she was too intoxicated at the time to consent.

She said she was initially reluctant to come forward as she feared it would impact her career, but eventually told her supervisors after suffering from a panic attack while on the job.

All three officers worked in 51 Division but were off-duty at the time of the alleged incident.

After the charges were laid against all three of the accused, the officers were suspended with pay.

None of the charges have been proven in court.
