Three people face charges following the death of a 19-year-old man who was stabbed, along with another man, during a house party in Mississauga early Saturday morning.

“The three parties were involved in an altercation with our two victims,” said Peel Police Const. Fiona Thivierge, who wouldn’t provide further details.

Eyewitnesses said the evening evolved rather suddenly from a large party into a violent altercation.

“All of a sudden it just turned into 100 kids hysterically screaming,” said witness Amanda Avery. She said people were then hitting a vehicle that was trying to leave the party.

Peel Regional Police say two men were found with stab wounds around 1:30 a.m. Saturday outside a Mississauga home on Rainbow Crescent, near Burnhamthorpe Road West and Glen Erin Drive.

“A lot of the people who were at that party were friends of the two victims and were very, very up to co-operating with police,” said Const. Thivierge, “so we have a very large number of statements to get through.”

Nineteen-year-old Zackary Jelovsek died at a hospital from his injuries, while an unidentified 20-year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Hamza Othman, 19, and Ilir Memedovski, 20, have been charged with second-degree murder, while a third man, 20-year-old Neil Patel, faces one charge of accessory after the fact.

Police could not say whether any of the accused were granted bail after appearing today in a Brampton court.
