A 21-year-old suspect is facing a number of charges after a stabbing inside a busy fast-food restaurant.

It happened inside a joint Tim Hortons/Wendy's location in Mississauga, in the Britannia Road and Terry Fox Way area, at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 14.

Police previously said the victim, a 44-year-old Mississauga man, was stabbed multiple times. He suffered serious injuries and was rushed to hospital.

In a statement released Monday, police say after the stabbing, the suspect "casually exited the restaurant" and fled southwest on Britannia Road, toward a townhouse complex. He was arrested earlier on Monday.

Morad Maher Thaher has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and assault with a weapon. He is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
