Two Hamilton men have been arrested in connection with the beating death of a man and the assault of two others in Toronto's Chinatown neighbourhood last fall.

In a statement on Monday, Toronto police say they responded to a call at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Sept. 30, 2013 on a report of an aggravated assault.

Police say a fight had broken out in front of a restaurant in the Baldwin Street and Spadina Avenue area between three victims and a group of male suspects. During the altercation, police say the victims were struck with a baseball bat.

One of the victims, Danny La, 22, died of his injuries. Police have not identified the other two victims.

Police say the suspects, John Pham, 24, and Somlack Litthimane, 24 were arrested on June 5. They have been charged with second-degree murder, attempted murder and aggravated assault. They are scheduled to appear in court on July 29.

Police say this is an ongoing homicide investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact them at 416-808-7400, or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
