Two men have been charged in connection with a series of bank robberies that occurred over a six-week period in the Toronto area.

Police said the robberies occurred between Dec. 21, 2015 and Feb. 4, 2016. Two of the robberies were in Toronto, two were in the Peel region and one was in the Halton region.

In a statement issued Thursday, police said that in each of the robberies, one man entered the bank wearing a disguise. Armed with a knife, the man would demand money, and vault over the service counter.

The man obtained a quantity of money, then fled into an awaiting vehicle driven by a second man, police said.

Following an investigation by Toronto, Peel and Halton police, two Mississauga men were arrested.

John Robert Kennedy, 20, has been charged with four counts of robbery and robbery while armed with an offensive weapon. Kennedy has also been charged with possession of property obtained by crime and five counts of failure to comply with probation.

James Neff, 34, has been charged with five counts of robbery.
