PIKANGIKUM, Ont. -- Provincial police say two teens are facing charges following the death of another teenager in Pikangikum First Nation in northwestern Ontario.

Police say officers responding to reports of an injured male lying on a trail early on Sept. 15 found a person who was non-responsive.

He was transported to a nursing station, where he died.

The victim was identified as 18-year-old Jethro Keeper of Pikangikum First Nation.

Two teenagers from the community northwest of Thunder Bay were arrested on Saturday.

One 17-year-old male is charged with second-degree murder while a second 17-year-old male is charged with assault with a weapon.
