BLIND RIVER, Ont. -- An 18-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder after an altercation between two men turned deadly over the weekend in Blind River, Ont.

Provincial police were called to a disturbance Saturday night on a residential street in the community about 150 kilometres west of Sudbury.

The victim -- whose name hasn't been released -- was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead but there are no other details about his death.

Ian Hammond of Blind River remains in custody awaiting his court date on Thursday.

The two men are believed to be related.

The North East Region OPP Crime Unit and the Criminal Investigation Branch continue to look into the case.
